Being one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, Maastricht offers a wide array of historical attractions. These wonders include majestic churches like the Roman Catholic Basilica of St. Servaaskerk, spellbinding fortresses such as the Fort Sint Pieter, and enigmatic town walls like the Hell Gate (Helpoort) on St. Bernardusstraat.
